Rhea Schulte – Education and Employment Officer, Mental Health Recovery Worker
Rhea joined the Clubhouse team in 2018 after completing her Mental Health Placement, whilst she was studying her Diploma of Enrolled Nursing. Rhea’s role at Clubhouse is a Mental Health Recovery Worker and Employment & Education Coordinator, where she is able to assist members with study opportunities, employment development and skill building. Rhea thrives on seeing members achieve their employment and study goals. Before Clubhouse, Rhea completed a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and predominately worked in hospitality roles. In her spare time, Rhea loves spending time with her family and travelling as much as she can. If Rhea wasn’t working at Clubhouse her dream job would be doing humanitarian work around the world.
Who would play you in a film? Gina Riley (Kath & Kim’s “Kimmmyyyy”)
If you were planning a music festival, who – dead or alive – would be your headliner? Elvis Presley… I’ve been a huge Elvis fan since I was a teenager.
You're given an airplane ticket to anywhere in the world – where do you choose to go? I would love to see the whole wide world! But I think I’d have to say, given the chance, I’d visit Bran Castle (also known as Dracula’s Castle), in Romania. I’m awe struck by ancient architecture and history. Also, Antarctica and The Maldives are definitely up there on the list!
What's your favourite memory? The first two weeks after having my kids, it’s the most blissful, utterly in love time.
Who is your inspiration? I’m inspired, in some way, by almost everyone I meet. However if I was to name one person, Malala Yousafzai, is one of my biggest inspirations.
You're on a desert island – what have you brought with you? Paw paw cream. I don’t like a chapped lip…because that would obviously be my biggest problem on a desert island.
Why Toowoomba Clubhouse? I’m passionate about decreasing stigma and increasing community awareness around mental health. Toowoomba Clubhouse is filled, every day, with courageous, inspiring people. How lucky I am to work here!
