Kylie Patchett - Team Leader Business Development Manager
With twenty years’ experience in management, marketing and business development in the forensic and medical science fields, Kylie loves to sink her teeth into a new project. At Clubhouse, Kylie has been responsible for managing projects including the roll out of our new Weekly Program and Goal Setting processes and the transition to NDIS funding. She is the person responsible for sharing the good work Clubhouse does with our members, and how we can help people on their mental health recovery journey. In her spare time, you’ll find Kylie studying natural health and teaching yoga.
Who would play you in a film? Hmmm, my friends at school used to say I looked like Molly Ringwald of Sixteen Candles fame. So maybe her?
If you were planning a music festival, who – dead or alive – would be your headliner? I like chilled music like John Butler Trio, or Ed Sheeran or Angus and Julia Stone but I also love going to festivals like Woodford Folk Festival and discovering a new act. Last time I was there, I fell in love with a band who played bluegrass and fiddling music. No idea what they were called now, but discovering a sound which was something unexpected was a really cool experience.
You're given an airplane ticket to anywhere in the world – where do you choose to go? Ireland. My maiden name is Murphy and I would love to explore where my Dad came from. The green hills make me go ooooooooooh :)
What's your favourite memory? Too many to choose from. The day I got married almost 20 years ago, and the birth of our two daughters has to top that list, and most recently some fun family times on an overseas trip to Bali.
Who is your inspiration? I am inspired by the many health and wellness teachers I have had across my life, specially my yoga teacher Deb. She is a constant source of courage and comfort-zone stretching to me!
You're on a desert island – what have you brought with you? A massive bottle of water (because I lug one everywhere I go!), lip balm and a pile of good books. I love reading, I don’t really need to much else to keep me happy!
Why Toowoomba Clubhouse? I first found about Clubhouse when I was doing fundraising for them whilst working at another organisation. Straight away, I felt an affinity for the safe space Clubhouse provides for our members. It is very important to me to be part of something that makes a real difference to people, and Clubhouse ticks that box every day.
