When she’s not at Clubhouse, Debbie is enjoying time with her family, taking spontaneous camping trips to islands and planning her next adventure.

Who would play you in a film? I’d love to think Audrey Hepburn. I love her classic look and style – and hey, why not aim high!?!

If you were planning a music festival, who – dead or alive – would be your headliner? Hilltop Hoods (but the restrung version with Orchestra backing). They’re the best live act I’ve seen so would love to see them again.

You're given an airplane ticket to anywhere in the world – where do you choose to go? Wow, my bucket list is long but I’d start with a horse riding trek in Mongolia. I’ve never been and I think the openness of the steppe contrasted with the incredible mountains (not to mention the renowned hospitality of the people and the staunchness of the Mongol ponies) would make it an experience of a lifetime.

What's your favourite memory? Camping near the beach and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing (and eating the chockie rocks Mum would make for the trip, mmmm)!

Who is your inspiration? Our members are my inspiration. I love how openly we can talk about mental health and recovery journeys and admire how our members grow and build their confidence and sense of self. That to me is truly inspiring.

You're on a desert island – what have you brought with you? A swiss army knife – too many episodes of MacGyver?!?

Why Toowoomba Clubhouse? I’ve worked in Director and Manager roles elsewhere but Clubhouse is a place that feeds my soul. I can bring my skills and experience and work with members and an organization that supports people to grow and reach for their highest potential. I love my work!
