Toowoomba Clubhouse Restructure

A mental health recovery organisation on the Darling Downs says it must change its funding structure to survive, following gaps in National Disability Insurance Scheme funding.

The Toowoomba Clubhouse services people with mental health issues, but about 80% of its members are not eligible for NDIS packages.

"At the moment, there are no other services on a day-to-day basis that are out there for people with a psycho-social disability. So if we don't have a service like Toowoomba Clubhouse, we have a lot of people that are going to fall into a gap and not be able to access services and support," Clubhouse C-E-O, Debbie Bailey.

The clubhouse is currently bock funded but will move to a different model within the next 12 months.
