Toowoomba Clubhouse's Job Club is a 6 week program that aims to build skills, increase work stamina and enhance confidence to help members demonstrate they are ready for regular volunteering and/or employment opportunities. 

The course is an informative and interactive program available to any member who has the desire to enhance or improve their employment skills. Whilst you may not be ‘job ready’ right away, Job Club can help in developing the confidence and competence for when you do feel ready to enter or re-enter the work force.

Job Club focuses on six course important areas for employment:

Week One – Identifying strengths and goals. Identify why it is important to understand and acknowledge

personal strengths and establish realistic goals.

Week Two – Understanding employment skills and appropriate workplace behaviour. Learn the difference between hard, soft, adaptive and transferable skills.

Week Three – Mental Health coping strategies in the workplace. Identifying triggers to workplace stressors, how to best manage stress and ideas to implement self-care strategies.

Week Four – Interview Technique Preparation. Tips on appropriate dress for an interview, interview DO’s,  interview DONT’s and information on what our body language says.

Week Five - Resume and Cover Letter Writing. Tips and suggestions on Resume and Cover Letter writing and preparation of your participant's own documents, so you can be job application ready

Week Six - Refresher summary of all Job Club topics and a Tour of Transitional Employer Vanguard Laundry.
