RUOk? Day 12th September 2019

The purpose of R U OK? Day is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling.

You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Starting an R U OK? conversation is easy. Use these four steps: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen 3. Encourage action 4. Check in

Toowoomba Clubhouse marked the occasion of R U OK? Day by visiting local businesses, suppliers and community connections and handing out the R U OK? Day conversation cards which included the simple steps, plus  phone numbers and contact information for support services where people can get help.

We also held a "Wear Yellow, and enjoy a Sausage Sizzle for FREE" shared barbecue. We enjoyed a day full of laughter and connection, whilst talking about the sometimes difficult issue of reaching out to a friend or family member when your gut tells you that something is just not right.
