About Toowoomba Clubhouse
Established in 1996, Toowoomba Clubhouse is dedicated to supporting adults with a lived experience of mental illness in the Toowoomba community.
We are a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Provider, and offer a non-clinical, welcoming and safe environment where people support each other through recovery from mental illness.
Members can choose the way that they participate in the work of Clubhouse, the skills they wish to build, how they socialise with others, and which support programs they access.
Our approach focuses on developing life and work skills which flourish though teamwork and building stronger social skills. We love watching our members achieve! We provide a welcoming environment for members who need the support and belief of others to assist them in their recovery journey and are proud to witness significant growth in every individual.
Toowoomba Clubhouse programs provide members with opportunities to access employment, education, life skills, and other supports they may need. We are always looking for ways in which we can extend our mental health services, and mental health support we provide.
You're invited to take part in our work-ordered day
The work-ordered day in the 'Clubhouse model of rehabilitation' is deliberately intended to offer all Clubhouse members involvement in the work of the Clubhouse. Clubhouse's success depends on member involvement. By enjoying yourself with productive work in a casual atmosphere, you will be rebuilding your self-esteem.
The members' participation in the decision making for the operation of Clubhouse is also part of that vocational and social rehabilitation.
Our Clubhouse is based on the evidence-based Fountain House Clubhouse International model for psychosocial rehabilitation.
